Customizable Volume & Brightness Indicators
Delivered a highly requested feature allowing users to customize the position of volume and brightness popups, addressing one of the most common user complaints about Windows 11's interface changes.
The Problem
Windows 11 moved volume and brightness indicators to the bottom center of the screen, centralizing them for the first time. The new location often blocked important media controls and subtitles. Users wanted the flexibility to position them elsewhere, including back to Windows 10 locations.
The Solution
Introduced customizable positioning options allowing users to move indicators to top center or top left positions, accessible through Settings > System > Notifications with a "Position of the onscreen pop-up" dropdown.
The feature also extends to airplane mode and virtual desktop indicators, providing consistent customization across system notifications while avoiding interference with window controls.

Microsoft Teases Small But 'Highly Requested' Windows 11 Feature Update

The latest beta allows users to move the volume and brightness indicators from their default location. It also includes a new Recall homepage that suggests recently used apps or websites.

Battery Percentage Enhancement
Brought back battery percentage display to Windows 11, another highly requested feature that improved user experience by providing quick battery status visibility without additional clicks. (Currently only available in Windows Insider Build)
The Problem
Initially, Windows 11 removed the direct battery percentage display, requiring users to hover over the battery icon for detailed status. This added an unnecessary step, leading to frustration among users who valued immediate visibility of their device's power level.
The Solution
The VoC team re-introduced the battery percentage display directly in the system tray. This update provided users with greater control over essential system information, ensuring a more convenient and transparent experience with their device's power management.
